Royal Caribbean Cruise Alcohol, Bottled Water, and Soda Policy

Can I Bring My Own Alcohol, Bottled Water, or Soda Onboard a Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship?

The Answer is Yes, But There Are Some Conditions

Many cruise lines let you bring water onto a cruise with you, but not all do. With a classic beverage package, bottled water is included for taking off the ship. The answer is yes, you can bring your own alcohol, bottled water, or soda onboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, but there are some conditions. Most cruise lines allow passengers to bring limited amounts of alcohol, bottled water, and soda onboard for personal consumption.

For alcohol, Royal Caribbean allows passengers to bring up to two bottles of wine or champagne per stateroom, and up to 12 cans or bottles of beer per stateroom. All alcohol must be in its original, unopened packaging. For bottled water and soda, Royal Caribbean allows passengers to bring up to 12 cans or bottles per stateroom. All bottled water and soda must be in its original, unopened packaging.

Passengers are not allowed to bring any alcoholic beverages that are more than 15% alcohol by volume (ABV) onboard. Passengers are also not allowed to bring any homemade alcohol or any alcohol that has been opened or partially consumed onboard. All alcohol brought onboard must be declared to the cruise line security upon embarkation.

Passengers who violate the cruise line's alcohol policy may be subject to fines or other penalties. Passengers who are caught bringing alcohol onboard that is not allowed may be asked to surrender the alcohol or may be denied boarding altogether.
