Enzo Maresca details exactly why he left £45m man out of Conference League squad

Enzo Maresca has explained his reasoning for leaving £45m-rated defender Max Aarons out of his Conference League squad.

The Italian coach took the bold decision to omit the 21-year-old from his 30-man group for the competition.

It came after Aarons had been frozen out for the last four games of last season.

Maresca said

"Max is a very good player, but he is not in the right condition to play at the moment," Maresca said.

Aarons has been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent months.

However, it is understood that Spurs are not willing to pay the £45m asking price.
