Arozarena's heroics give Mariners win
Randy Arozarena continued his hot hitting with a walk-off solo homerun in the 10th inning, giving the Mariners a 4-3 victory over the Athletics on Friday night at T-Mobile Park.
The Mariners have now won three games in a row and four of their last five. They are 11-6 since the All-Star break and are now just 2.5 games back of the first-place Astros in the AL West.
Arozarena finished the game 2-for-5 with two RBIs. He now has 25 home runs on the season, which is second in the American League behind only Mike Trout.
Garver continues to impress
Mitch Garver continued his impressive season with a 2-for-4 night at the plate. He singled in the Mariners' first run of the game in the second inning and later scored on a wild pitch.
Garver is now hitting .316 with 20 home runs and 60 RBIs on the season. He has been a key part of the Mariners' success this season, and he is one of the best young catchers in the game.
Ramos makes his debut
Heliot Ramos made his major league debut on Friday night, starting in center field and batting ninth. He went 0-for-4 at the plate, but he made a nice play in the field in the eighth inning to help preserve the Mariners' lead.
